What is the ECO4 Grant?
ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation, phase 4) is a government scheme that helps people living in homes that are expensive to heat.
It’s designed to improve the energy efficiency of homes, reduce carbon emissions, and cut heating costs—especially for people on low incomes or those considered vulnerable.
The scheme runs until March 2026 and is funded by major energy companies. Warmify works with these providers to help eligible households get upgrades through the scheme.
Who is eligible for the ECO4 Grant?
You may qualify for the ECO4 Grant if:
- You live in England or Wales
- You own your home or rent privately (with landlord permission)
- Your home has a low EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating—usually D, E, F or G
- And your household meets one of the following:
- You receive a qualifying means-tested benefit (like Universal Credit, Income Support, ESA or Child Tax Credit)
- Your total gross household income is below £31,000
- Or your income after housing costs is under £20,000
- You meet other local or health-based eligibility criteria
